Skiing and Winter Holidays
Sunny slopes and breathtaking panoramas in the Alpbachtal skiing region. 20 modern lifts that give access to over 50km of pistes throughout the region. Typical mountain huts, traditional restaurants and ski bars entice you to take timeout. Beginners of all ages are well catered for by the 4 ski schools. Cross country trails lead the ski`er through a magical winters landscape. Least taxing winter recreation is walking, about 200km of cleared marked paths available. The new trend is snow shoe walking. For tobogganing fans the region offers exciting runs. A horse drawn sleigh ride is the ultimate romantic experience.
The gondola station is situated down the hill on the right. A 7 minute walk from Haus Hislop. The nearest lift is the T- bar lift which is a 2 minute walk down the hill. It takes you up to the tree line and the run down is a red one. You can ski back to the T- bar or ski to the gondola station that takes you up to the top of the mountain, The magnificent Wiedersbergerhorn. It's about a 15 minutes ride up. The meeting point for ski school is located very close by. The top of the mountain is where the blue runs are and for the intermediates and advanced, it is the starting point for red and black runs. You can leave your skis, poles and boots at the gondola station. Your boots will be dried and disinfected. It would save you from carrying them back to Haus Hislop. I do have a ski room though and if you come down route 5 and come to the T- bar lift (which is the first 'You tube' movie) then it would only be a 2 minute walk to Haus Hislop.
