We have just spent a lovely week! Claire is a wonderful hostess and couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful! The area has lots to offer in terms of natural beauty and tourist attractions. Looking forward to coming back for a bit of skiing J Claire, thank you for making us feel so welcome and at home! Lots of love. A.A +K xxx
Aran, Adina + Kieran Davies. Hilperton, U.K. 26/10/2007
Fantastic apartment with fantastic views. We had a brilliant time! Top tips for future visitors: the pool at the hotel in Inneralpbach will let you use their sauna complex and swimming pool (part indoor/part outdoor) for €15. Go about 7.30 in the evening, (it’s open until 9.00) and it’ll be empty. Also if you’re a beginner skier look for the ski-weg on the Wiedersbergerhorn. It’s a lovely, easy track, but badly signposted!
Nick Rowen, London, U.K. 7/11/2007.
We spent lovely quiet extended weekend @ Haus Hislop. The apartment is comfortable, has great views. We went for walks, did some sightseeing nearby, read a lot – just a perfect getaway from the busy city life. We are looking forward to coming here again and again! A. J-K. &J. Claire, you have a great thing going!!!

Fab time here!! Thanks Claire for all your help & cheerfulness. The appt (#3) was spotless and cosy – the coffee machine was a real bonus. Managed lots of good skiing (just off season so good and quiet). Very curious what its like here in the summer. All the very best. Mike. Mike Fitchett, London U.K. 7/11/07.
Fab week – action packed – snow was a bonus – A lovely area and the apartments are superb. Claire, wishing you all the success you deserve – Well done.
Jill Buchanan, Oxenhope. England. 15/11/07
We came to Tirol looking for a relaxing week and that’s exactly what we got at Haus Hislop! Our apartment was excellent, really comfortable with everything we needed, and beautiful views too! Claire was a cool hostess who was even kind enough to pick us up from the station when we arrived. We will surely be returning again, next time to do some skiing too! Thanks Claire! All the best!

Thanks for all and we wish you luckiness with your new life!!! Lourdes, Nurja, Kieu, Agnes. Barcelona, Spain. 9/12/07.
To dear Claire! – We had a fab time largely due to your warmth, kindness, good humour and just plain old really nice ‘gal’ness – (Oh, and the skiing, views, friendliness of the local community helped as well!). Your courage in taking on this venture is truly admired and it will be a success – the apartments are well thought out and very stylish, the location perfect and the whole thing great value for money – we will be back for more good food/wine, laughter and friendship. Cheers.

Claire, thanks for a wonderful time. Your place is exactly what we were looking for: quiet, ski-in ski-out. And small town charm. Your recommendations were great especially the restaurant Zirmalm, we don’t know if it was small town effect, but they definitely got to know us. Good luck with everything.
Jarvis and Mieke Seaman, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 28/12/07.
Well Claire how do we start? The place and the accommodation always sounded special from the day we booked – that feeling has not changed. Your warmth, hospitality and good humour (oh & friendliness) have coupled with brilliant blue skies, excellent skiing – lovely apartment made this a wonderful Christmas holiday, “Zirmalm” fantastic recommendation (walk home not so good!!) – had 2 ‘brill’ evenings there (one shared with you) Thank you for sharing the carol concert – your rendition of “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” is something to behold! I really admire both yours & Francis’s courage for taking on this venture and can only wish you everything you wish for yourselves and more. Have a, and here’s to a fabulous, prosperous, healthy 2008. Next time you are in Haworth, let us know if we do not see you in Yorkshire I am sure we will see you back in Austria. With love,
Jane, David & Frankie Whitehead. Oakworth, West Yorkshire, U.K. 29/12/07.

Lunch was great, thanks Claire, you’re a good friend of mine now, I really like you! Being with you was so great. Thank you so much for everything! I met you and immediately was thinking like: Oh my God, this woman is awesome! You’re called Claire, and I was called Claire for 4 years being at the 2ndery School. Your Mum is also called Andrea and I get picked up by my parents in front of your house. It seems like destiny to me, and I really feel happy that I met you.

Haus Hislop is a wonderful place to stay. So comfortable and convenient. Local people with an authentic and local ambiance! I LOVE IT!!! We are going to come back in the summer and will recommend to all our friends! Claire is the perfect host, she made us both feel so welcome, she introduced us to the local “Neanderthal people” who made our stay unforgettable to say the least! Make sure you read this and you are planning on skiing that you get up for an 8.30 gondola because it’s the best skiing. of the day, if Claire can be your guide all the better. Also visit the Zirmalm for steak as this is the best steak I’ve ever had- Red 9 and Black 10 on a morning with your breakfast @ 2000 m you can not beat it. IN Haus Hislop we had 4 very nice days! We love it here!!! Maybe we’ll come back at the next winter?! Claire, you was a very nice host! Family Weiß. Germany. (a flower drawn) 12/l/08.
After spending almost a week here at Haus Hislop it is going to be hard to leave! When driving here, the first thing that struck us was the brilliant location – we couldn’t believe how close we were to the ski fields, and what a superb view to enjoy from the house! After walking inside the apartment we were just as impressed. It was perfect - modern, immaculately clean and offered everything we could need. It was so nice to have such a warm, cosy place to come back to after a physically demanding day on the slopes. Claire, you were the prefect hostess, all your help and information was very much appreciated. We both really admire you for taking on this new venture and you should know that, together with your warm, friendly attitude, this holiday home you are offering is guaranteed to be a huge success! We will be sure to tell all our family and friends about this little gem and we personally can’t wait to come back. Thanks again for everything and best of luck for the future. Nathan & Natalie. We spent a great week here! It’s probably hard to tell you about all the good things concerning Haus Hislop. Let me just however try: So, that will be conditions – all things one may need including DVD or a microwave. Place – a lovely house in, as they say the most beautiful village in Austria. Views – those from the windows as well as from the mountains nearby (never forget the trip to Wiedersbergerhorn : ) Skiing conditions – just surprisingly good. and most of all: CLAIRE. We are very, very grateful for the week, the atmosphere and simply the way you are! Wish you luck and hope for coming back when possible. Auf Wiedersehen, Michal, Wanda, Miecia, Andnej - Pabianice, Poland. 6/2/08
Just had a brilliant week here in Inneralpbach. Apartment probably the best we’ve ever stayed in, exceptionally clean, with everything shiny and new. Had some fantastic weather and some excellent skiing, but not exactly for beginners. Gondola within walking distance but ample parking near ther if you want to take the skis down in the car. We were made to feel extremely welcome by lively Claire and we’ll probably come back once Andrea learns to ski better! Had some cosy nights in watching DVDs and playing games and we enjoyed the recycling guessing game – “ is it plastic, metal or another?” Thanks very much Claire and all the best for the future! I have really improved here. I have done all the black runs. Really enjoyed staying here. Thankyou very much Claire, love Jordon. Andrew, Andrea, Harvey and Jordon Craig – Haworth, England. 16/2/08. We are just at the end of a great weeks holiday at Haus Hislop. Claire was very welcoming and a great hostess. The apartment was clean and warm and easy to relax in after after exhausting days skiing. The area is very beautiful and here are plenty of places to visit but we concentrated on the slopes and skiing (but if you dohave some free time, try and visit Rattenberg. Having the opportunity to order fresh bread to arrive in time for breakfast was good. Also having the option of putting the ca5r in the garage was a treat (our garage at home is full of junk so the car never gets a look in!) Thanks Claire for all your time and effort and we wish you well and hope to return.Andy, Paola, Josh and Dan – Fairlight, East Sussex. 22.02.08
Dear Claire, even though the holiday did not end very happily for me because of my insured knee, we must say we spent a lovely time here. We’re back!! How could we resist with such an endearing place and hostess (with the ‘mostess’) – like returning to see old friends – Inneralpbach and Haus Hislop with their beauty, warmth and gentle nature have found a place in our hearts (forever!) – this time have discovered more local secrets:- The butcher at Reith – great produce, warm smiles and lots of laughter trying out our Austrian!. The wine shop (Schwarzenberger and co) and good schnapps @ Brixlegg. Unterknolln (Radinger family) farmhouse bread and schnapps (Alpbach). Organic cheese shop for great locally produced chees, milk, yoghurt and buttermilk. Baker at Brixlegg (turn right at the lights, aon corneron the left – also café for bread and pastries. Massage at the Galtenberg hotel (just down the hill). Luffermike – from mutter(?) at Zottohofs scary climb and dangerous milkshake (rum, rum, other alcoholic things and fresh milk from their dairy) – perfect end to a great week! XXGaynor and Alan (The foodies!) – Oxford (via OZ) Kangaroo Island, South Australia. Another ‘well kept’ secret like Alpbach 21.03.08

We’ve been to Alpbach before, but Haus Hislop is by far the nicest place to stay. We’ve had a great few days skiing – Adam loved the ski school and Alyson tried skis for the first time (3 years old!) Highlights were the powder snow on Wednesday, the swimming pool in Alpbach and having lunch up the mountain in the sunshine. Thanks Claire for making us feel so welcome and providing such lovely accommodation. We all look forward to coming again!Andy, Julie, Adam, Alyson Roberts. Herts, England. 28 .03.08

First family skiing holiday and what an excellent startin point! Superb facilites in apartments and really good coffee. Claire is so friendly and approachable for any queries or help. Such a fantastic location (our little boy thought we were in Narnia!!!) Such beautiful views from the apartment windows. Would recommend it to others and seriously think about coming back again as would think that the whole package this offers would be hard to beat. We’d all recommend Haus Hislop for it’s amazing location and views. The accommodation is fantastic, clean. Warm and has everything you need in the kitchen! The snowboarding and skiing has been great and Alex enjoyed the sledgin with the other children – we think at one year old just it’s hard to tell. Mandy baby sitting service was great, Alex loved her and it enabled us to get a couple of hours boarding together. We’ve all had a great holiday with our friend, good local food, good company and great beer – and staff who don#t seem to mind 8 noisy brits with 5 eveb noiser children. Good luck with the house Claire, it’s lovely.Rachel, Rob and Alex. Lindsay and Paul. Queensbury, Bradford. UK and Pudsey, Leeds 4.04.08

We needed a peaceful, relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we had. The apartment was well equipped. Modern, clean and tidy. The views were suberb, looking over the village to the mountain. Claire was the perfect hostess, looking after all our needs, even placing a vase of fresh cut alpine meadow flowers on the table. She knew all the places to go and things to do. The area is full of activities, walking, sightseeing, cycling, paragliding and in such beautiful surroundings. We certainly hope we can make it bank to Alpbach and “720 Haus Hislop” again. Thankyou Claire for a lovely holiday!

Austria has always been one of the worlds best kept secrets to us and you and your Haus Hislop have made it eben more special! Good luck in the futures Claire and we hope to return in the skiing season or if not to wear out our walking boots even more and of course your cooker! Thanks for the last 3 days in apt 3 it was wonderful. Take care & keep smiling! Best wishes : )
David and Gill Gilderdale. Eastbourne, Sussex. 30.06.08.
Apt 4. Lovely modern & clean apartment, great balcony for even greater views! A week of fantastic weather, very hot during the day with some rainy or cooler evenings – ideal – but maybe we were just lucky! Austria is stunning and we will definitely come again but probably drive down. We will stay @ Haus Hislop, you are made to feel very welcomed & Claire is at hand if you need her – but also doesn’t make you feel like you can’t ‘be yourself’ in your rented apartment, which is great. Good luck Claire with your venture – heath & happiness xxx
Dane ages 4 years, walked right to the very top of the wiedersberberhorn from the end of the chair lift to the summit! Quite scary, thought he was going to drop off the edge! PS Big Brother is still a load of rubbish – sorry!!! Ha.

Haus Hislop – Austria’s best kept secret. Reading this book confirms all the impressions we had formed of Austria, Inneralpbach, Haus Hislop and, of course, Claire. You are obviously building up a loyal following (including us) and we are convinced that in a short time your bold venture will become the huge success that you deserve. The situation is suberb, Haus Hislop provides all the comforts needed but the magic ingredient is you Claire. With your warmth, friendship and natural charm how could you fail. Here’s to the next time.
Love and many thanks. Peter Fellows.34 Stennels Avenue, Halesowen, West Midlands, UK 17.07.08
I’ve a tough act to follow with my fathers comments but here goes…..
Had a great time at Haus Hislop for the past nine days. The location is excellent and the accommodation is wonderful – very clean and equipped with everything you would need. By far and away the best part of the holiday though was getting to meet you. You made us feel at home straight away and were always there if we had any questions. I even learnt a new skill – how to use an ironing machine! We both hope to see you again soon and are sure that over time Haus Hislop will become the success it deserves to be.
With love and best wishes,
Keith xx Halesowen, West Midlands, UK 17.07.08 – 26.07.08
We arrived in the rain but it didn’t matter, we were so impressed with the place. Claire made us feel right at home. The place (unit 4) was so clean and adorable that we got all a cosy night right away! We ended up getting rained out for the first half of our time here but we still did so much. We visited the big castle – Neushwaistein (spelling?) and Rattenburg, Innsbruck and Salzburg. Austria is just lovely, even in the rain : ) The flowers need watering anyway….. They are so beautiful here. The sun did come out for the last half and we lived it up! We went for hikes and sat by one of the beautiful lakes and rode the gondoly. We really would love to come back here to ski! Claire, thanks so much for your hospitality and keep in touch. Amy, Marc La France. 114 Boscobel Road,Fredericksberg, Va, 22405 USA. 17.07.08.
Oh flip, what can we say. We’ve had a great time and done so much, even stayed an extra 2 days!! Been to Ellmau waterpark three times, absolutely fab for the children, so much to do there alone, relaxing for the adults too. Been to Rattenburg, Kitzbuel (up the cable car). Alpbach indoor pool (the children do like to swim!). Up Alpbach cable car for a walk to the top of the mountain and so much more. The vicinity is perfect, the apartment amazing and so much home from home!! Claire has been a fantastic host, totally bonkers!! (That’s a good thing in Yorkshire!!). We are booked in again in January for what I’m sure will be an equally fantastic holiday, if not better. Can’t wait.

This was my first trip to Austria, although I have travelled through years ago. It is really beautiful, stunning scenery. Walked almost to the top of the Galtenburg – views fantastic – arduous on the was down. On our first walk, bumped into some old friends we hadn’t seen for ages – didn’t know they were here. Haus Hislop (and particularly Claire) have been very welcoming. Very clean, everything we needed, comfy bed. Will be back, maybe to ski here. Will see if we can have an apartment at the front of the house next time. Thankyou Claire for being a lovely, friendly and helpful hostess. Can recommend gorge walk at Brandenburg, although we were caught in a thunder storm. The weather has been exceptional; has just changes last night. Will recommend Haus Hislop!. Good luck Claire – very best wishes. Shirley Auis and John Clegg. Draycott and Shepton Mallet, Somerset. 2.08.08.
This was a special week for us – a break from our eight children! We’ve had a wonderful time – the accommodation is fantastic, the area beautiful added to which we’ve enjoyed the company of ‘the hostess with the mostess’ – Claire! We will definitely be back next year for our week away and intend to keep Haus Hislop a secret from our children but will definitely recommend it to everybody else. In the meantime Claire, many best wishes for this fantastic venture you have with Haus Hislop. See you in 2009!! Xx Rebecca and Glen Carter. Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, UK 2-9.08.08

We had a wonderful week in the Tyrol. Loads to do for everyone. The ‘Wave’ waterpark was great for the children. Lots of lovely swimming pools too! Great fun and hard work mountain climbing and visiting Lauserland. The apartment was very goog – very clean and had everything we needed (except a balcony!). We would love to come back again! We had great fun and will miss Austria a lot! Adrienne, Martin, Ellen and Claire McGory. Smarmore, Ardee, Co, Louth, Ireland. 9.08.08
Haus Hislop was perfect for spending a wonderful week in Tyrol. It was everything we had expected and more as it gave the sense of comfort and was welcoming. The views from apartment 4 were excellent and we did make very good use of the balcony which was great. Througout the whole week we had loads to do. It was very interesting visiting the smallest city in Austria and Haus Hislop’s surroundings. We hope to hear from you when you’re in Spain. We look forward to coming back. Cheers, Camila. Hi Claire! Well, what can we say? A lovely welcome – smilely, friendly Claire – a clean comfortable apartment with a stunning view – we never tired of it – constantly changing, even beautiful in the rain! So many things to do here – walking, rafting, climbing, eating, drinking, fishing….we must return – maybe a different season – we have a Christmas dream. Claire, with your lovely personality, hard work and vision, we’re sure you’ll make ‘Haus Hislop’ a great success and give many people wonderful memories and a great deal of pleasure. Awesome! Fantastic location with great views, well sized and equipped flat and a scatty cousin for a landlady – what more could we ask for?! We’ve had a excellent week, exactly what we were after and have been very impressed with the whole set up, your knowledge of the area and activities and especially with your personal hard work and drive – keep this up and you can only succeed. We will certainly be back along with Sophie’s brother/sister and will tell the world in the mean time. Thankyou.xx Andy, Katie and Sophie Hislop. Devizes, UK. 16-23.08.08.

Had a fantastic time at Haus Hislop and Inneralpbach. The accommodation is wonderful, the apartment (4) has everything you could possibly need or want. Claire has thought of absolutely everything you could want for the perfect stay. The views are amazing and the sun terrace is highly recommended for a late afternoons lazing about. The weather was perfect, but there are so many things to do in the area that I’m sure there would have been plenty to keep us dry if not. Would love to come back, summer or winter; the only bad thing was we could only stay a week! Sorry to leave but looking forward to another visit sometime. John and Anne Marie Graham. Northolt, Middlesex. UK. 30.08.08.
It’s the second time that we’re at the Forum Alpbach and the second time that we’re staying in this wonderful and nice house. We had great luck to find Claire and we’ve been enjoying it a lot. I’m very thankful to find this nice friendship with Claire. You have a lot of great qualities and I would say you’re very strong and you have a very big heart! Kisses Marion. I am loving you ‘USP’ Claire! You’re onto a great thing here and this place has been perfect for us this week: Somewhere to relax, climb mountains, relax, swim in the lakes, relax and erm, well consume schnapps! Thank you so much. It’s been brill and we really hope to be back soon – promise to bring my camera next time though!! Hugs Hazel x Great flat, fantastic scenery, mountains, beer, schnapps, going head first over a waterfall in a tractor tyre – what more could you want? We’ve had a great week here in Inneralpbach and glad to have found this ‘picture perfect’ Austrian village. The views from the apartment are stunning. We’ve not had a particularly relaxing week – cycling up and down mountains, lots of walking etc – but it’s been fun and just what we like. Thanks Claire for being a good host and providing us with a ‘rations tray’ for the first few days. Maybe see you again some day. Hannah Archer and Chris Shepherd. Bury St Edmonds. England. 6.08.08.
Had a terrific week after arriving from two days in Salzburg. A fantastic apartment which exceeded everything we hoped for. The views are breath taking. Too many memorable moments to describe but a few of the highs – climbing Gratlspitz, seeing red squirrel, wild deer, eagles and a snake! Tubing in the river and mountain biking down the Weidersbergerhorn. (Plus impromptu Disco in the Weidersbergerhorn pub! A great DJ, good host and not a bad dancer either – Thanks Mark!) A fantastic holiday – A fantastic host. Thanks to Claire Lloyd and Dianna Batley, Outwood, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. 19.09.08.
